Researches says that the messages that we delete in Whatsapp are not actually deleted. Whatsapp has been applauded for its security as it completely rolled out End to End Encryption to secure the messages from the third party attention in the month of April.Whatsapp uses a well regard Signal Protocol for its encryption . In fact it joined the league of very few chat apps that offer complete end to end encryption. However a new revelation by security expert questioned about the Whatsapp privacy. Chat logs from the Whatsapp remains the same on our phone even after its deleted said iOS expert Jonathan Zdziarski. He added that the latest version of the app tested leaves forensic trace of all our chats even after we delete, cleared or achieved them even if we "Clear All Chats". Although the data has been deleted from the app its not overwritten in the SQLite library and therefore it remains the phone. To test it Jonathan installed the app and started with few different threads then archived some, cleared some and deleted some threads. He made a second backup after running the clear all chats function in What's app none of the archival or deletion option made difference in how these deleted records are preserved. In all cases the deleted SQLite remained intact in the database as reported. The only way to completely remove the traces of chat is to remove the Whatsapp entirely from the phone.Whatsapp users don't need to panic the way this forensic data could be exported are relatively limited. However the Whatsapp is not the one and only messaging application with this problem . The issues exist with iMessage as well. Other apps like Signal and Wickr leave fewer forensic traces.
