A NASA Satellite captured a view of the Moon moving in front of the Earth. It is only the second time in the year that the NASA camera aboard the Deep Space Climate Observatory(DSCOVR) Satellite, orbiting about 1 million miles(1,609,344 kilometers) away from Earth, captured the Moon crossing Earth's face. A camera called NASA's Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera(EPIC)-a 4-megapixel CCD camera and telescope on the DSCVOR Satellite which capture the Moon crossing the Earth's face. The DSCVOR Satellite is positioned between the sun and the Earth. The Moon and the Earth intersect only four times a year, and the moon only appears between the spacecraft and Earth once or twice a year, depending on the phases of DSCVOR. This latest crossings of paths was captured in 30 seconds apart. EPIC uses separate monochrome eposures-red,blue,green-to generate natural colour oF Earth. The images was taken between July 4 at 11:50pm and July 5 at 3:18am. The moon can be seen moving over the Indians and Pacific oceans.
