In a first,India Olympics squad for Rio tops century mark....


A unique century was scored on sunday.It didn't come in a cricket game, but had team India written all over it,India's contingent to the Rio Olym pics swelled to over a 100 --The largest ever quadrennial event.




The milestone was reached when quarter miler Mohammad Anas, sprinter srabani Nanada and long jumper Ankit Sharma clinched Rio berths.Participating in the qualifying event in Poland Anas made the grade by clocking 45.40 seconds in t he men's 400 m to equal the qualification mark and win gold in the Poland National Athletics Championships.The 21-year old also smashed his own national mark of 45.44s.

The 100 mark was achieved when the kasonav memorial meet in Almaty,Kazakhstan,scene of Dutee Chand's history making women's 100 m qualification a day earlier , saw her training partner and rival , Srabani Nanda complete a rare double when she also won the Rio berth in the 200 m....
