I’m in films just for the sake of earning money says Kajal. Though it is obvious, not many artistes would be as brutally frank as the picture-perfect Kajal Aggarwal to admit that they are in films mainly/only to earn money to further their economic status and to save for the future.The curvaceous 31-year old Kajal Aggarwal, who awaits the release in theatres of her upcoming film Kavalai Vendam opposite Jiiva and later her first film opposite Ajith Kumar which is as such untitled, didn’t mind starring opposite Tollywood’s veteran Chiranjiive though she had starred opposite his son Ram Charan Teja in a few films.
She also has superstar Rajinikanth’s younger daughter Soundarya’s Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam opposite Dhanush (as one of the three heroines) and Vijay’s upcoming Atlee-directed untitled venture (as one of the two heroines along with Nayantara). Kajal, who locked lips with Mahesh Babu for Businessman (2012) and in her latest Hindi films as well, got candid with newsmen during a recent casual chat.“Actresses say they look for the script’s depth, their roles in it, etc. before taking up film offers. Money (offered to star in films) is also equally important, I feel. When I came into the industry many years back, I didn’t argue about my fee and took whatever was offered to me. I only concentrated on my work; it was only later that I realized that I needed to concentrate a lot on the money factor as well.“Of late, though, I have been choosing and picking my roles. Money is important for all of us and like other artistes and actresses, I’m in the film industry mainly to earn money; name, fame and popularity comes later. I’d analyze where I stand by the end of the year before taking up new film offers in the coming year,” Kajal said.
