While Karnataka looked for adjustment of September 20 request of the peak court, its neighbor Tamil Nadu challenged against change.
Prior in the day, Karnataka said it was not in a position to discharge water to Tamil Nadu on different grounds. Tamil Nadu said Karnataka is going about as judge in its own cause and declining to agree to the requests regardless of the matter being sub-judice under the steady gaze of the court.
The request came three days after Karnataka's lawmaking body passed a determination saying the stream will be utilized just to meet the drinking water needs of towns and towns in the Cauvery Basin and Bengaluru.
