Regina enjoyed playing the ghost in Selva’s Nenjam Marappathillai.Actress Regina Cassandra, whose names belies the fact that she is a pure ‘Tamil’ girl, is very fluent in Tamil. The actress, who is among the frontline actresses in the neighbouring Tollywood, appears to be travelling with a view to making it big in Tamil films. The actress, who possesses an enviable hourglass figure, plays a ‘ghost’ in director Selvaraghavan’s upcoming horror flick Nenjam Marappathillai. The actress has a handful of films in Tamil including Maanagaram, Gemini Ganeshanum Suruli Raajanum, Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen and Rajathanthiram besides Nenjam Marappathillai. She plays S.J. Surya’s heroine in Selvaraghavan’s Nenjam Marappathillai which also has Nandita Swetha essaying the second heroine’s role to perfection. Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the film’s music.“I was initially scared by a few who said that it would be very tough to act in Selva’s direction as he is a tough task-master. However, I found him as a good teacher who taught me the nuances of acting in the simplest of manner. I didn’t even realize that I had done a good job as he extracted work from me. He taught me how to modulate while uttering dialogues. Nenjam Marappathillai is certainly my best film till date.“I loved playing the ghost in the film which is not the usual ‘ghost’ film you have seen many a time; I won’t be scaring the audiences with blood smeared on my face. Selva has shot sequences in such a manner that it would be tough for the viewers to find out whether it’s a girl or a ghost,” Regina assures, stating that it would indeed be a memorable film in her career. The actress, who was born and brought up in Chennai, says that she had been waiting for the right break in Tamil and that’s why didn’t star in many Tamil films in the past. “Hopefully, from now onwards, I’d be able to make my mark on Tamil as an actress of substance and would be a regular feature in Tamil films,” concludes Regina.
