Uber drivers who pays a visit to the company's inspection lot at San Francisco will meet this Robot . Uber hired this Robot to patrol it's parking lot and it's way cheaper than security guard. Thus robot will be like a five feet tall ,white and egg shaped one.It will be wheeling around the lot to look out for trouble. This Robot is K-5 ,a 300 pound security robot made by silicon valley startup Knightscope. It's just a stand in for human security guard. Thus RoboCop has a multiple definition cameras for 360 degree vision, a thermal camera, a laser range finder, weather sensor and a licence plate recognition camera and person recognition too. For eg if someone (stranger) comes into the lot or start messing with the car the robot can't taste them or broke out with weapons instead it can set alarm and sends these signal to human security personal and records everything.
Knightscope customer don't buy those robots instead they take it for rent usually two at a time while one is charged the other will be in duty. This costs $7 per hour. This is preferred rather than a security guard they will be given $25-$35 per hour . Stephen (Knightscope's VP of marketing) said two large security companies already signed a deal with Knightscope but it was in vain as these robots are there. Knightscope which was launched in 2014 so far only deployed it's robots in California location. They will be spotted at corporate companies, logistics centres and data centers. It's just serving a great job.
