ISRO LAUNCHES 20 SATELLITE

     Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched 20 satellites from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh, Sriharikota.

     Launch of PSLV C-34/Cartosat-2 Series Satellite Mission  is at 9:26 am. Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C34 is used to carry satellites, including India's earth observation spacecraft Cartosat-2, from  second launch pad of space centre.

     India's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, launches the 727.5 kg Cartosat-2 series satellite and 19 co-passenger satellites weighing about 560 kg into a 505 km polar Sun Synchronous Orbit (SSO).This is the 14 thflight of PSLV in 'XL' configuration (with the use of solid strap-on motors).

    Co-passenger satellites from USA, Canada, Germany  Indonesia and two satellites (SATHYABAMASAT and SWAYAM) from Indian University.The total weight of the 20 satellites carried PSLV-C34 is 1288 kg.
