The 48-hour countdown set for today's historic launch for 20 satellites in a single mission on the Indian Space Research Organisation with workhorse PSLV-class C-34 from Sathish Dhawan Space Centre [SDSC] at sriharikota began on Monday morning. SDSC director P. Kunhikrishnan said now this PSLV-C34 is for 20 satellites launches to be injected into single orbit as per the requirement and it has been achieved. Now, this PSLV-C34 mission is identified for launch of India's primary satellite Cartosat-2 series weighing 728kg along with 19 Co-passenger Satellites into sun synchronous orbit. The 19 Co- passenger satellites include four micro satellites and 15 nano-satellites. Earlier, this mission was planned for launch of 22 satellites including 17 nano-satellites. Now, as two foreign Nano satellites are not ready, the mission is set for launch of 20 satellites.
