Nayan, Anushka ask producers to pay their taxes and pay them ‘in white'. It is reported that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetization drive has made actresses Nayantara and Anushka, who are busy both in Tamil and Telugu films, to ask their producers to pay the relevant taxes as per their fee per films and make the payment ‘in white’ for them so that they don’t find themselves in the dock in future!
Modi’s demonetization drive against black-money launderers has caused huge obstacles in the path of common man’s life though it is hailed by economic experts sans the exception of former RBI governors Manmohan Singh and Raghuram Rajan.
Nayan, who gets somewhere between Rs.3-4 crores per film and Anushka, who is paid Rs.2-2.5 per film of hers, are the highest earning actresses in South India. Following Modi’s demonetization drive, the actresses have reportedly told their producers to pay the relevant taxes in full and make their payment in ‘white’ – accounted money so that they don’t face problems in the days to come.
Producers and directors are stumped by the demand as this had never been done before in any film industry for any artiste in the country!
