Audi first ever V2I service

Audi announces the the first vehicle to infrastructure (V2I) services. New Traffic light information system communicates with municipal signals to inform the driver when the light changes from red to green. It is to launch in selected cities of US. Audi of America with the Traffic Technology services (TTS) will be launching in the 2017 Audi Q7,A4 . Traffic light information, an Audi connect PRIME feature enabled the car to communicate with the infrastructure of the selected cities and the metropolitan areas across the US. The car receives the real time signal information from advanced traffic management system that monitors traffic lights. The link between vehicle and infrastructure is routed through onboard LTE data and Traffic Technology services. While in the traffic the information system indicates the time remaining for the siganl change to green. In 2014 Audi was the first one to manufacture to offer 4G/LTE broadband Connectivity. Connect PRIME services are optional. Connect PRIME services requires vehicle GPS signal; certain services collects the local information. Connect PRIME services should be used only when it's safe and appropriate.
