Only two units power generate : Tuticorin Thermal Power Station

       Only the fourth and the fifth units of Tuticorin Thermal Power Station are now producing electricity and production has been suspended in the other three units for various reasons, according to sources.There was a breakdown in the second unit and the production came to a halt around 8.30 p.m. on Friday. A leakage was detected in the speed pump of the unit. A team of technical experts attended to it and rectified the problem. However, the second unit was kept in standby mode on the direction of Load Dispatch Centre, Chennai, the sources said.
       The third unit was also kept in standby mode.Production from the first unit came to a halt four days ago in view of a 13-day overhauling work. Each of the five units had a production capacity of 210 MW, sources said.
